Once upon a time in the bustling heart of Jakarta, a tale of love and serendipity began. Bayu, a Javanese gentleman from Cibinong with a passion for cats and video games, and Nadya, a half-Batak, half-Betawi beauty from South Jakarta who shared the same interests, were destined to meet through their mutual friend, Velta.

The story began with a unique request. Nadya asked Velta to find a male cat for her cat to breed with. Velta, ever the clever matchmaker, saw an opportunity. She knew just the person who could help—Bayu, the proud owner of a potential feline suitor.

A group chat was born, and soon, Bayu and Nadya were exchanging photos and videos of their beloved cats. Days turned into weeks, weeks into months, and before they knew it, a year had passed. Despite their best efforts, their cats remained single. However, something magical was happening between Bayu and Nadya.

Their journey progressed from cat care to virtual adventures. They found themselves building islands together in Animal Crossing and slaying zombies in State of Decay. Their late-night gaming sessions on Discord were filled with laughter, shared secrets, and a growing connection that neither had anticipated. Their story had just begun, and it was already more epic than any game they had played.

One fateful evening, over bowls of Bubur Kwangtung, Bayu mustered the courage to confess his feelings. Nadya’s eyes sparkled with joy as she reciprocated, and on 23-03-2023, their love journey officially began.

As they navigated through the challenges of life, they found solace in each other. Days turned into nights, and even within the horror of the dark, they were each other’s guiding light. Despite having only 7 Days to Die, they still thrived in a State of Decay, ventured through The Forest, escaped the clutches of Devour, and faced their fears to overcome Phasmophobia. Through it all, their hearts beat in unison, longing for each other’s company, dreaming of a life together, settling down and enjoying life like The Sims.

In May, their spiritual journey led them to Umrah, with Nadya going first and Bayu following shortly after. During their pilgrimage, Allah S.W.T opened what seemed to be closed. As the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) would often say: “Ya Muqallibal-qulub, thabbit qalbi ‘ala dinik” (“O Changer of the Hearts! Strengthen my heart upon Your Religion”). Indeed, the hearts are between two Fingers of Allah's Fingers, and He changes them as He wills. After their pilgrimage, they both strengthened their will to commit to one another.

On November 18, 2023, Bayu orchestrated a beautiful mess of a proposal, sealing their promise to marry.

Their families, united by love and tradition, celebrated their engagement on March 9, 2024. All the while, their cats still hadn’t met—a funny twist in their love story.
